Alentejo, Portugal is a lovely region that is spread throught the coastline as well as the interior of Portugal. It has a lovely coastline with golden sand beaches, sand dunes formed by the wind, the Atlantic Ocean with crystal clear waters and waves... Alentejo is a region of contrasts, where within one hour you can traverse the dry landscpae of the flat interior and reach beaches surrounded by dunes and pine forests. A good spot to enjoy a wonderful view of a good part of this coastline is from the lighthouse at Sines.
Cliffs, golden beaches, Tonel beach, Sao Torpes beach, and the beaches of Morgável, Baurrinho and Santo André...
As well as the coastal beaches with their waves and strong winds, it is worth noting the interior riverside beaches.
The Alentejo coastline offers a wealth of wild miles which are ideal for practising sports such as surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing thanks to the wind and wave conditions.
Visit the beaches of Tonel, Carvalhal, Comporta, Torpes or Sines. Salto beach is a natural, virgen beach where nudism is the norm.
There are also developed beaches with services and EU blue flags, such as Troia mar beach, Atlantic beach, and pego beach, or the Santo André coast. The most glamourous beach in the zone is Playa Grande in Porto Novo, Sines.
