There are many interesting natural spots in Alentejo including the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and the Vicentina coast, a stretch of coastline which is considered one of the most well conserved in Europe. In the interior region we find extensive plains and rivers where one can observe abundant bird life, and on the coast we find many marine birds, and incredible cliffs.

The Natural Park of the Southwest is home to a wonderful range of unique flora and fauna, steep cliffs and abundant vegetation. Sand dunes, cliffs, birds, and otters inhabit this landscape.

In Évora we find more beatiful natural spaces, like the Quinta da Espada, a high space found within this lovely city, surrounded by hills and vegetation. Also worth mentioning is the Natural Park of Bajo del Guadiana, a space which is divided between Spain and Portugal.

Alentejo is a place of natural treasures with parks and nature reserves, white sand dunes, the river Tajo, the Natural Park of Sierra de Sao Mamede, flatlands...a unique and varied landscape.

Finally, don´t miss a visit to the Natural Reserve
of the Sado Estuary in Setúbal, another jewel in the crown of this region.
